OER and Accessibility

Page history last edited by Tracey Madden 14 years, 4 months ago

Addressing accessibility and making reasonable adjustments to resources is part of our legal obligation with OER as much as any other educational materials.

Fortunately we have the support of JISC TechDis throughout this project along with their website and its wealth of guidance and resources. These are just two of the items we are making use of in this project -

Accessible Documents

Guidance on how to produce accessible electronic documents can be found in their Accessibility Essentials Series, which can be found at: http://www.techdis.ac.uk/index.php?p=3_20

Accessibility and Web 2.0

We are planning to investigate the use of web 2.0 tools for sharing resources. The Web2Access toolkit assesses the accessibility of a range of web 2.0 tools and also allows users to submit their own assessment. The Web2Access website can be found here: http://www.web2access.org.uk/
