Employability Resource

Page history last edited by Tracey Madden 13 years, 1 month ago

Brief description of the OER

This resource was originally created as a paper based employability resource pack aimed at helping students develop a range of employability skills during their physical sciences course, but which can be easily and readily adapted for use by any discipline. The pack is designed to be used in two ways, as a whole or for use as individual activities.

If used as a whole, each self contained activity is sequential, starting with quizzes to help students identify their career aspirations, skills development, job application process and seeking careers help and advice. If used individually, each activity can be used separately, such as how to develop a CV or prepare for a job interview.

Every activity also has a short tutor guide explaining exactly how each activity can be used, or even assessed. Since the resource was originally produced for physical sciences students many of the examples are science related but it is very easy to substitute these with other examples, making the resource adaptable for any discipline.

Most the resources for the employability resource pack have now been uploaded to JorumOpen. There are 4 short video clips still to be edited and uploaded shortly.
